Seminar outline: “The
100 188! Best and Worst Planning Ideas for Your Client’s Retirement Benefits”
Price: $39.95 (downloadable version); $49.95 (printed version)
Note: This outline is written for intermediate and advanced level planners.
What's in the handout?
This 108-page seminar handout summarizes over 188 planning ideas your clients should consider (or avoid) for their IRAs, 401(k)s, and other retirement plans. Every one of these ideas has been publicly offered somewhere by somebody — in a book, article, website or seminar — to retirement plan owners. Some of the ideas are tried and true techniques that should not be overlooked. Others are off the wall and should be avoided. Some definitely don’t work, some definitely do work, and some are yet to be tested. The point is, they’re all here!
Natalie Choate explains what each idea is, then gives her opinion as to whether it works (and if so, who should use it). She also tells you where to read more if you want to pursue the idea (or test her conclusions). The ideas are grouped by topic, so the outline also functions as a series of checklists on (e.g.) how to draft a trust, whether to roll over from one type of plan to another, who to choose as beneficiary, etc. The Appendix contains a list of “Client Profiles,” with suggestions of which ideas to consider for each type of client.
Who needs it?
You need this if: You would like checklists of ideas to consider in various situations (see the Summary Table of Contents for the Idea Groups covered); or if you want a quick place to check planning ideas your client may have heard elsewhere. There is some overlap with the book Life and Death Planning for Retirement Benefits (6th ed. 2006), but this handout is in a different format designed for quick access.
If you will be attending Natalie’s “100 Best & Worst Planning Ideas” seminar in the near future, don’t buy this, because you will receive it free at the seminar.
“Natalie, I just got your outline and I really like it. Comprehensive and I like the format. It is very easy to use.”--AC, Maryland.
“This outline is invaluable as a checklist of ideas to be considered in different situations (such as advising a client whether to roll over to a different plan, or drafting a beneficiary designation form). Plus, this is the first place to look when you hear about a new tax-saving or investment idea for IRAs.”
